Central Philippines is one of my favorite places in the entire world. This is where you can find the pristine white beaches and clear blue waters of Boracay, Bohol, Cebu and many others.
I was deeply saddened by the recent unfortunate events in that area. First was the earthquake that hit the island of Bohol and now the terrible aftermath of Typhoon Haiyan.

Pinoy in Texas - My short trip to Austin and San Antonio
I recently traveled for work to our Austin, Texas office and stayed there for a week. It was my first time traveling to Austin and Texas and I was determined not to go to Austin and not see Austin. Outside of the office work hours, I squeezed in time to see a few of the city sites.
What I discovered is a neat town that has lots of history, loves good music and loves to eat and drink. A bonus trip was a visit to pretty San Antonio.

Bohol in my Mind - My memorable trips to Bohol
Bohol is probably one of my favorite islands in the world. For me, the island experience is a complete package. It does not only have pristine white sand beaches and torquoise water, it has centuries old landmarks and natural wonders.
This blog is dedicated to the beautiful island of Bohol.

Back in Manila - Rediscovering the city's food scene
I had free time at work and I took that chance to go somewhere where I can relax. The first thing that came to mind was to go back to Manila.
My time off was not a lot so I made sure that I plan my days carefully and this included the places to eat. Luckily, my vacation turned out not only good for the soul but for the taste buds as well.

Back in Los Angeles - Rediscovering LA
Finally, going to Los Angeles and not going to any theme parks, not meeting any relatives and not just a stop over on a long drive to Mexico.
In this trip, this Filipino guy discovered the cultured side of LA. I immensely enjoyed what I saw. It is a different side of LA I've been wanting to experience.

4th of July in Portland and beyond
I like the Northwest United States. Lush, green scenery, fresh air and still giving you that feeling that you are in the West Coast.
Portland may not be an international destination but it has lots of things to offer to travelers. This Filipino guy absolutely enjoyed the sites, food and wine in and around Portland.

Eating my way through Manila - Two weeks of delicious meals and snacks
I go back to Manila at least once a year to see my mom and the entire family and friends and I've been doing it for over 15 years now. Manila is changing at a fast pace and I like what I am rediscovering each year. For one thing, there are more restaurants and places to eat now than before and they serve truly good food.
For two weeks, I tried to take pictures of what I ate while I was in Manila. This blog contains twentyfive savory meals, desserts and drinks I sampled with Mijo, with my family and friends. Enjoy!

Life is a Beach - Relaxing in Phuket and Phi Phi Islands
We were in Thailand in the later part of November because we got an invite from our friends A&M to come visit them in Amphawa for the Loy Krathong or Festival of Lights. Before we went to Amphawa, Mijo and I took a detour and decided to check out the country's most famous beaches.
We didn't only enjoy a relaxing getaway, we also enjoyed the picturesque views of the islands. Check them out here.
