Back in Manila - A weekend of eating and relaxing.

Manila - Salcedo Farmers Market sorbetes bwMijo and I were in Manila for a short stay - before we flew to Boracay and after the family trip to Singapore. In that short stay, we ate and ate a lot and saw a really good live theater.

We always have a great time when in Manila!

Back in Boracay - Relaxing stay in the island

Boracay - Day 2 beach bwA beach vacation doing nothing was something Mijo and I have been craving for and Boracay island is a place we wanted to go back to. That is just what we did when we went back to Manila.

It was such a relaxing trip and I wouldn't mind doing it all over again.

Back in Manila - Eating my way through the City

IIonggo Grill - Crowd bwManila has evolved into a city with a great food scene. Every where I go, there is good food.

I was in Manila the past week and also in December and for a couple of weeks. During both times I took note of all the good food I ate.

Life is a beach - Back in Puerto Galera

Puerto Galera - Sand sign bwPuerto Galera was our next logical destination from Sibale island. It is only a few hours from the Port of Calapan.

It was great to be back to this place even if it was just for a very short time.

Life is a beach - My unforgettable travels to Sibale Island

Sibale island - Boats bqI went there with my siblings to take care of family business. Instead of doing just that, the trip ended up as a wonderful beach holiday and an amazing time reconnecting with family.

Probably one of my favorite islands in the entire universe, I hope to be back to Sibale one of these days.

Sun, sea, reefs, majestic cliffs, white sands, and dramatic sceneries. Coron is breathtaking.

Life is a Beach - Back in Boracay

Boracay - Looking northWe needed to take care of a personal business in Manila so we decided to spend a little over two weeks in the Philippines. While there, the whole family went to Boracay for a short island getaway.

Though the island has changed so much from the last time I visited, the white and powdery sands still remain unchanged.

Bohol in my Mind - My memorable trips to Bohol

Bohol - Sign
Bohol is probably one of my favorite islands in the world. For me, the island experience is a complete package. It does not only have pristine white sand beaches and torquoise water, it has centuries old landmarks and natural wonders.

This blog is dedicated to the beautiful island of Bohol.

Back in Manila - Rediscovering the city's food scene

Manila - Skyline
I had free time at work and I took that chance to go somewhere where I can relax. The first thing that came to mind was to go back to Manila.

My time off was not a lot so I made sure that I plan my days carefully and this included the places to eat. Luckily, my vacation turned out not only good for the soul but for the taste buds as well.

Eating my way through Manila - Two weeks of delicious meals and snacks

Phuket - islandI go back to Manila at least once a year to see my mom and the entire family and friends and I've been doing it for over 15 years now. Manila is changing at a fast pace and I like what I am rediscovering each year. For one thing, there are more restaurants and places to eat now than before and they serve truly good food.

For two weeks, I tried to take pictures of what I ate while I was in Manila. This blog contains twentyfive savory meals, desserts and drinks I sampled with Mijo, with my family and friends. Enjoy!

Lost in Cebu

From the Cebu Business Park, it costs about 50 pesos worth of cab ride to get to Mango Square. Mango Square, we were told, is that area on General Maxilom Avenue bounded by the Fuente Osmeña on the west and stretches about four to five city blocks going south. It is reputed to be the city's nightlife hotspot. I never really understood what that meant until we got there. We were only looking for a good gay bar to have a couple of rounds of drinks.

Island Tour Bohol

The original plan was to go to Palawan although we weren't exactly sure where to - Puerto Princesa, Coron, or El Nido. The Salvadoran also wanted to stay one more day wherever we were headed. So that would make the package a 4 days / three nights. I started making arrangements with the travel agent in Manila a little too late because the Salvadoran didn't arrive from Vietnam until 12/19. I learned that there are only a few chartered flights from Manila to Palawan so 4 days in the island would already include Christmas eve and we didn't like that. My mom and siblings wouldn't appreciate that either. I had to make another plan. Bohol and Panglao Island sounded right.
