I went back to London for work. I made sure that I was going to be in London and try to see London the way locals do. So for two weeks, I made time to see the city after office hours and during the weekend. It was a lot of effort but it was rewarding. Seeing London how the locals see it made me appreciate the city even more. A bonus was seeing my childhood friends M and J once again.
Mykonos is like Santorini's younger and hipper sibling. Whatever Mykonos lacks in sunset views it makes up for its beaches and the party vibe to lure the monied and the beautiful and also us - the commoners. Our trip to the island of Delos to get a dose of archeology and history was a bonus!
Santorini for me was blue skies, island landscape, white on white houses, turquoise water and the sunshine. After this trip, Santorini is just pure magical beauty where time stands still.
I had been told before to skip Athens or give it only a day when traveling to Greece. Mijo and I were skeptical about this suggestion and we wanted to give Athens a chance. We were rewarded by our decision and the longer we stayed in the city the more we loved it.
It wasn't in our original plan to go to Cinque Terre. I am glad we ended up going to Cinque Terre because the five towns of Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore are absolutely stunning.
Our trip to Cinque Terre was relaxing at the same time a feast to the senses. This Filipino guy was in travel heaven!
Venice is just like how I had imagined it upclose. Charming, beautiful, decadent, old world. I have never seen anything like it. Mijo and I absolutely enjoyed this trip. Venice is truly La Serenissima!
